A Feast of Friendship: Bring & Share Challenge at Button House and Beechwood Park
03 February 2026
Our recent Bring & Share events at Button House and Beechwood Park were an absolute treat for the taste buds and the heart! Both communities came together to cook, share, and celebrate some truly delicious dishes — with residents and even a few team members rolling up their sleeves to join in the fun.
Beautifully led and co-ordinated by our Wellness Manager, Sadie Birch, the events brought everyone together through food, laughter, and a touch of friendly competition. Button House took the lead in this first challenge with 9 points, closely followed by Beechwood Park with 6 points.
At Beechwood Park, our talented gardener Vic took on the role of judge for the tastiest dish, while over at Button House, Dario and Karl handled the same tough (and tasty!) responsibility.
Beechwood Park Highlights
The top spot went to Lis Arthurs for her Date, Apple & Nut Cake, affectionately labelled “very nice but not naughty cakes”! Close behind was Judy Lynn with a wonderful spinach and mushroom crustless quiche. Sheila and Tony delighted everyone with a selection of sandwiches — think salmon and avocado, or brie and salad — and Michelle McCallum impressed with not one but two kinds of banana, peanut butter, and nut biscuits. To round things off, a refreshing green potato salad made its way to the table too.
Button House Highlights
At Button House, Jackie wowed with her breakfast muffins, while Jean earned high praise for her “magic” brownies. Rick brought warmth to the room with his sweet and smoky stew, and Trisha’s tuna and egg salad with olives and anchovies was a big hit. Jenny created a colourful breakfast mix of fruit, granola, Greek yoghurt, and apple juice, while Dario’s lasagne, Varo’s stuffed vine leaves, and a summery Mediterranean orzo salad added a perfect finishing touch.
A huge thank you to everyone who cooked, tasted, and cheered each other on — and to Michelle McCallum, who also captured some wonderful photos of the event at Beechwood Park.
Up Next: The Red-Themed Quiz!
The next challenge is already in sight — a Red-Themed Quiz this February! Beechwood Park will host theirs on 14th February with John Arthurs, while Button House’s quiz will take place on 23rd February, organised by Riyadh and Sadie.
We can’t wait to see everyone join in again — and maybe even score a few extra points for their community!
