Helen has extensive commercial and property management experience and brings an exciting new perspective to Brio Retirement Living.
Helen is also Managing Director of Touchstone, a private rental property management company within the Places for People group, and has previously worked for some of the UK’s largest and well-known retailers, including Aldi and Somerfield. Her retail background means she really understands what it takes to provide an exceptional experience for customers, ensuring that they are at the very heart of the business.
She is passionate about making retirement living the best it can be and is committed to making sure our retirees enjoy a high-quality product and exceptional care and support when buying or renting a home in one of our communities.
Karl is a Chartered Project Manager with over 25 years’ experience of planning and development within the commercial, residential, care and retirement property sectors. Karl is one of the founding Directors’ at Brio Retirement, the retirement living offer from Places for People, one of the largest property management, development and regeneration companies in the UK.
Karl joined Brio after six years as Development Director at Methodist Homes (MHA), one of the UK’s largest charities providing care, accommodation and support services for over 18,000 older people throughout the UK, where he was responsible for the delivery of retirement communities and care homes throughout the UK. Prior to MHA, Karl held a number of senior executive positions in management consulting, working in the private and third sector with a number of residential, care and retirement operators/developers.
Chris became Group Chairman of Places for People in 2010, having originally joined the Group Board in 2006.
He has chaired a number of companies listed in the UK and Germany, and is currently non-executive Chairman of Narec Capital Limited and London & Newcastle, a leading London-based mixed-use property development company.
David has over 30 years’ experience of housing, urban regeneration, mixed tenure and mixed use development, property and financial management, having led strategic change in both large and small organisations. He has been Group Chief Executive of Places for People since 1997.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing, a Member of The Institute of Residential Property Management, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is Visiting Fellow of Cambridge University.
Morag is an experienced Senior Manager. Prior to joining Brio, she worked for 25 years in the hospitality industry in various roles, but ultimately as General Manager in a variety of quality four-star hotels in Scotland, all of which had extensive facilities including: multiple food outlets, leisure centres, timeshares and golf.
The customer journey is at the heart of all that Morag does and her expertise is used to lead the General Managers of each Brio retirement community to ensure the highest standards of service are delivered.
Kelda was appointed as General Manager for Beechwood Park and Head of Care for the group in February 2019. Having gained her Honors Degree in Ireland and living in the UK for the past 13 years, Kelda brings a wealth of experience and a personal touch to all she does. Previously Kelda held Senior Management positions in the retirement sector and care in the community.

Catriona has extensive experience in the property industry, from refurbishment and interiors, to lettings and sales.
Catriona spent a considerable time in residential sales at Savills before moving into the new homes sector. Before joining Brio Retirement Living, Catriona headed up sales at Abbeyfield, overseeing the sales of independent living retirement schemes across the country. She then joined Aldwyck Housing Association before returning to agency working as New Homes Sales Manager for Knight Frank and latterly Savills, based in Kent.
Catriona is committed to ensuring that her team provide all retirees with an exceptional buying experience, with an unwavering focus on the customer journey.
