Ashleigh Baldwin, Local Marketing Coordinator

Why I Like Working Here: Ashleigh Baldwin

Local Marketing Coordinator, Chapelton

Our eyes and ears at Chapelton, Ashleigh is helping to raise the profile of retirement living in Scotland. From researching sponsorship and advertising opportunities through to arranging events, newsletters and photography, a typical week is far from boring.

“We work to a marketing plan, so it’s my job to make sure that we tick off set actions every week,” she says. “That could include placing adverts, reviewing social media posts or completing activities required for key events such as the Chapelton 10k run & Fun Run in July and Bike and Walk event in September.”

A key part of Ashleigh’s role is engagement with the wider Chapelton community to raise the profile of Landale Court and forge relationships with different people.

“I get to meet lots of members of the local community including residents, business owners and people involved in charities,” she adds. “I really love this part of my job. We get together to discuss how we could work together to support the community as well as each other.”

Ashleigh has already made her mark at Brio with a number of achievements under her belt, including sparking a new idea for an advertising campaign.

“I’m very excited about our offering and that’s given me the confidence to get involved in the creative side of our marketing,” she explains, “I helped develop an advert at the railway station, which focused on promoting Aberdeenshire’s inspirational new town and for people to make their next stop Chapelton. It was rewarding to see that come together and the positive impact it had.”

She continues: “I feel lucky to be part of a team which is taking Landale Court from a concept through to a real community which will be an integral part of Chapelton.”

Why I Like Working Here: Kelda Fasasi

Head of Care & General Manager

Newly appointed Kelda is heading up the team which will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Brio Beechwood Park.

Why did you want to work for Brio Retirement Living?

I’ve been working in the retirement sector for many years, so always keep an eye on what is happening in the industry. I’d read a lot about Brio Retirement Living and was impressed by the company’s reputation and approach.

When I was given the opportunity to work for the team, I jumped at it! I was really excited at the prospect of joining a company with a great culture and strong leadership in a sector which I’m passionate about.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love the variety of my role and that I get the chance to meet so many different people. No two days are the same, which keeps me on my toes and means I’m always learning.

I also enjoy being part of a company that supports career development. Our SPIRIT values champion people that go the extra mile, which I find really inspiring.

Why is Brio Retirement Living a great place to work?

For me, what stands out most at Brio is the culture. From the moment I started working here, it was clear that everyone had a lot of respect for each other. This has created a very positive and supportive working environment. The knock-on effect is high morale across the team and that’s very motivating.

What have you achieved at work that you are particularly proud of?

I’m still in the very early stages of my Brio career but I have been lucky enough to join a local charity group called Cotswold Friends.

They aim to combat loneliness and provide support through befriending, community activities and carer respite. I’ll be working as a volunteer so I’m really looking forward to being part of an environment where everyone is pulling together and supporting a great cause.
